KEXP. KCRW. WFMU. The FiiO RR13 is a handheld FM radio that lets you connect to great radio stations in your city. A Silicon Labs Si4831 radio chip handles two FM bands, while a five-magnet speaker and headphone connectivity give you two ways to listen. BASS and 3D sound effects, a luminous mechanical dial, and a rechargeable, swappable battery round out a pocket-sized radio built for everyday use.
The Silicon Labs Si4831 FM radio chip handles station reception across the standard 87–108MHz band and Japan’s 76–90MHz band. Turn the tuning control to find local news, music, and conversation, with reception supported by a custom internal antenna.
An ultra-thin five-magnet speaker and dual independent amplifiers fit inside the RR13’s compact chassis. Listen through the built-in speaker while working around the house or connect headphones while out and about.
The RR13 includes a detachable telescopic antenna with a 3.5mm connection. Extend it when reception needs a boost. Connected headphones can also help improve reception sensitivity, giving you additional options when the internal antenna needs support.
FIIO’s custom DDB AS100 analog audio and amplifier chip provides BASS and 3D sound effects. Use them to add low-end emphasis and a greater sense of space to your listening.
The RR13 refines the analog tuning mechanism used in the RR11 with a new roller, gear, and rack structure. The revised gear ratio makes adjustments smoother and more precise, helping you settle on a station with a controlled turn of the dial.
The rechargeable 450mAh battery provides approximately seven hours of radio listening through headphones or four hours through the speaker at the default volume. Charging takes about two hours through USB-C. The battery is swappable, so a compatible spare can extend your listening time.
The RR13 uses a custom 10440 lithium battery with an integrated protection board and a non-standard 44mm length. Contact FIIO customer support for a compatible replacement. Actual battery life varies with listening conditions.
Connect a compatible source through a digital-to-analog audio adapter cable to use the RR13 as a headphone amplifier. This mode also lets you apply its DDB analog sound effects to music and internet radio from an external device. FIIO’s TRUST series Type-C to Type-C digital-to-analog audio cable is available separately.
In headphone amplifier mode, the RR13 delivers at least 80mW per channel into 32Ω, with an output impedance below 1Ω. Headphone battery life extends to at least 18 hours in this mode.
An aluminum alloy front panel and AG glass back cover give the RR13 a solid feel in the hand. It weighs approximately 2.68 oz (76g) and measures about 1.71 × 3.37 × 0.65 inches (43.4 × 85.6 × 16.4mm). Choose from retro gold, black, red, or silver.
